What kind of decision would you make..?

A group of children were playing near two railway tracks, one still in use while the other disused. Only one child played on the disused track, the rest on the operational track. The train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change its course to the disused track and saved most of the kids However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way? Let's take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make...

Analyse the situation

Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child.
To save most of the children at the expense of only one child was rational decision most people would make, morally and emotionally. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was. This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority are, and how farsighted and knowledgeable the minority are. The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined.

And in the case he was sacrificed, no one would shed a tear for him.
To make the proper decision is not try to change the course of the train because the kids playing on the operational track should have known very well that track was still in use, and that they should have run away if they heard the train's sirens.
If the train was diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track! Moreover, that track was not in use probably because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, we could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions that need to be made, we may not realize that hasty decisions may not always be the right one.

READ THIS IF YOU WANT To BE CHEERED UP!!!

Read slowly over each of these things and imagine how it makes you feel.

An unexpected compliment from someone you admire.

The first cool day of fall.

A sweet note from someone in the mail who thought to use the old fashioned system rather than email.

Laughing at an inside joke.

Being in a group of friends and knowing that you are an important part of it.

When you see someone you know and both people take off in a sprint towards each other with arms held out awaiting an embrace.

Knowing you did the right thing and having someone come up and tell you they are proud of you.
Getting flowers.

Holding a baby.

Laughing so hard with your friends you cry.

Reading a wonderful book, being sad it is over and then when you return it to the library find out that there is a sequel.

Getting a strike in bowling and everyone celebrating becuase it was pure luck.

Acting silly with a friend.

Finding the absolute perfect gift for someone.

A walk on the beach, sand in your toes, wind in your face.

Going to bed early tired and knowing you are going to get a great night's sleep and get to sleep late.

Blowing out all the candles on your birthday cake.

Looking at your baby pictures.

Realizing that it is the small things in life that count the most

No Flirting!!

Guy: I'm a photographer I've been looking for a face like yours!
Gal: Yes, and I am a plastic surgeon. I've been looking for a face like yours!

Guy: May I have the pleasure of this dance?
Gal: No, I'd like to have some pleasure too!

Guy: How did you get to be so beautiful?
Gal: I bet, I must have been given your share!

Guy: Will you come out with me this Saturday?
Gal: Sorry! I am having a headache this weekend!

Guy: Go on, don't be shy. Ask me out!
Gal: OK, Get the hell Out!

Guy: I think, I could make you very happy.
Gal: Sure, I think you are leaving now?

Guy: What would you say if I asked you to marry me?
Gal: Nothing. I can't talk and laugh at the same time!

Guy: Can I have your name?
Gal: Why, don't you already have one?

Guy: Shall we go and see a Movie?
Gal: I've already seen it!

Guy: Do you think it was fate that brought us together?
Gal: Nah, it was plain bad luck!

Guy: Where have you been all my life?
Gal: Hiding from you.

Guy: Haven't I seen you someplace before?
Gal: Yes, that's why I don't go there anymore.

Guy: Is this seat empty?
Gal: Yes, and this one will be if you sit down.

Hope... by shelley

To suffer woes which Hope thinks infinite;
To forgive wrongs darker than Death or Night;
To defy Power, which seems Omnipotent;
To love, and bear; to hope, till Hope creates
From its own wreck the thing it contemplates;
Neither to change nor falter nor repent;
This, like thy glory, Titan! is to be
Good, great and joyous, beautiful and free;
This is alone Life; Joy, Empire, and Victory!

Is It Any Wonder

Is it any wonder
That friendships die and fade,
When we forget the reasons,
Why they first were made?

Is it any wonder
There's so much grief and sorrow,
That we don't even seem to care,
What will take place tomorrow?

Is it any wonder
Our world is like it is,
When all we do is grumble,
And no action do we give?

Is it any wonder
Racism thrives, my friend,
When we cannot see the person,
Just the color of his skin?

Is it any wonder
That evil's strong and bold,
When we can't see any goodness,
And we let our hearts grow cold?

What does love mean ????

This is from a widely circulated email where the source is unknown:
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, "What does love mean?" The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined. See what you think:

"When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all even when his hands got arthritis, too. That's Love." Rebecca - age 8

"When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth." Billy - age 4

"Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other." Karl - age 5

"Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French Fries without making them give you any of theirs." Chrissy - age 6

"Love is what makes you smile when you're tired." Terri - age 4

"Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen." Bobby - age 7 (Wow!)

"If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate." Nikka - age 6

"Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears iteveryday." Noelle - age 7

"Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well." Tommy - age 6

"My mommy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night."Clare - age 6

"Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken." Elaine-age 5

"Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day." Mary Ann - age 4

"When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you" Karen - age 7

"You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget."Jessica - age 8

And the final one -- Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. (Now this will melt your heart.) The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman's yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, "Nothing, I just helped him cry."
